One big happy family ready to serve your family.
Our team consists of 3 doctors, Veterinary Technicians, and other support personnel. We all share the same mission of working together to understand our patients’ needs, and treating you and your pet with the utmost care and respect.
Dr. Lee Spector was born in Seattle, Washington, and raised in St. Louis, Singapore and New York City. His childhood dream to become a veterinarian came to fruition when he received his veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1976. Four years later, Dr. Spector met a woman who was to become his wife and veterinary partner, Bernadette at a dance party. A year later they were working together at Rothman Animal Hospital in Collingswood, and have continued to work and dance together ever since. In 1986 they opened Gray Fox Animal Hospital, LLC.
Dr. Spector enjoys all aspects of his chosen profession, but most especially, performing surgery. He enjoys the teamwork with his incredibly diligent and brilliant surgical staff. Gray fox had become known for working with Bulldogs, largely because of his team’s expertise with difficult anesthetic cases.
Outside of practice, Dr. Spector has devoted most of his energies to running and swimming. His knees are showing some age, so the running has curtailed. But the knees do hold out well enough for him to continue being active, now in ballroom dancing where his wife Bernadette does all the really difficult physical work and hopefully, soon in agility where his toy poodle, “AJ” will also do the hard labor as well.
Dr. Bernadette Spector was born and raised in Woodbury, New Jersey. Her dream was always to become a veterinarian and help God’s creatures. Dr. Bernadette Spector attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 1991. Prior to becoming a Veterinarian, she honed her skills by working as a Veterinary Technician and Surgical Technician at Rothman Animal Hospital in Collingswood, NJ, for 20 years.
Both Dr.’s Bernadette and Lee Spector had the same vision of compassion and caring when it came to helping and treating our furry friends, hence the Gray Fox Animal Hospital, LLC was established in 1986.
Dr. Bernadette Spector’s veterinary interests include: Cold Laser Therapy Treatments, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Dermatology and Allergy Treatments; with a special interest in alternative therapies such as Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. Her personal interests include: Herbology, Crystals, Reiki and enjoying whatever time she can with her 4 beautiful grandchildren; Sarah, Bridget, Emma and James. She also enjoys dancing with her husband and special dance partner Dr. Lee Spector.
